• Pink Evening Primrose Flower (15-May-2025)

Backyard Springtime Nature in New Jersey.

It rained hard yesterday (4+ inches). While out checking that the rain barrels were getting filled, I noticed a number of Pink Evening Primrose (Oenothera speciosa) flowers that looked in pretty bad shape. They were actually the first of these flowers to bloom this year. Even though we had some more rain overnight I found some newly opened flowers in better shape. This image was taken with a Hasselblad X2D camera and 38 mm f/2.5 lens with a 9 mm macro extension tube.
